A Quest to Cook and Eat Every Food on “The List”
On April 14, 2012, I decided to take on The Food List Challenge – 100 things the facebook app creators claim you should eat before you die. I’m not going to editorialize the list, since it seems somewhat arbitrary. I’ll try not to label anything as “gross” because it is all matter of perspective. Some of the items on the list look simple enough. Others may take some serious searching and some serious cash. And, while I hate to admit defeat before I start, I know that I will probably not be able to purchase, much less, prepare Fugu, unless I’m prepared to risk my life. Want to say you’ve (cooked and) eaten the items on the list? Join the challenge! I’m on a quest not just to EAT each of the items, but to find and PREPARE or COOK each of the items on the list.
Below is the list, my progress, and links to the recipes incorporating the foods.

also, Durian is disgusting. You can skip that one… YUCK.
Spaetzle is so good. I love it fried with lentils. ( I used canned lentils in sauce of some sort). Traditionally it is served with Cheese I believe.
Also, I had some Nettle tea here you could have tried when you were here, it’s not that special to be honest. Some people think that it works to help control allergies, I am sceptical about that.
We can knock absinthe off the list after I get back in town. I’m happy to help.
Awesome! A joint post!
